The UPCAT (University of the Philippines College Admission Test) is the entrance exam required for admission to any campus of the University of the Philippines System — UP Diliman, UP Manila, UP Los Baños, and others. It tests Language Proficiency, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics, and Science.
When is the UPCAT administered?
The UPCAT is typically held between August and October for the academic year following the exam. Grade 12 students (or graduating senior high school students) are eligible to apply.
How is the UPCAT scored?
The UPCAT uses a University Predicted Grade (UPG) system that combines your UPCAT score with your high school grades. Each UP campus and course has a different UPG cutoff. There is no penalty for wrong answers.
What subjects should I review for the UPCAT?
Focus on Mathematics (algebra, geometry, statistics), Science (biology, chemistry, physics), Language Proficiency (grammar, vocabulary), and Reading Comprehension. Abstract reasoning may also appear in some years.
Is Iskolar Exams a free UPCAT reviewer?
Yes. You can take a free 45-question diagnostic test without creating an account. Creating a free account gives you access to the full question bank, progress tracking, and timed practice exams.
How many questions are in the UPCAT?
The UPCAT typically contains around 240 multiple-choice items divided into 4 subtests: Language Proficiency (~60 items), Reading Comprehension (~60 items), Mathematics (~60 items), and Science (~60 items).
Is there a free UPCAT practice test online?
Yes. Iskolar Exams offers a completely free UPCAT practice test online — a 45-question diagnostic exam covering Math, Science, Language Proficiency, and Reading Comprehension. No credit card or account is required to start.
Where can I find a UPCAT math reviewer with answers?
Iskolar Exams' UPCAT math reviewer includes hundreds of practice questions with full answer keys and explanations, covering algebra, geometry, statistics, and word problems — the core topics tested in the UPCAT math section.
What is a good diagnostic exam for UPCAT?
A good UPCAT diagnostic exam covers all four UPCAT subtests and gives you a score breakdown by subject. Iskolar Exams' free diagnostic exam for UPCAT does exactly this, helping you identify which subjects to prioritize before your review.
Where can I do UPCAT abstract reasoning practice?
While abstract reasoning is not a core UPCAT subtest in most years, it does appear in some versions and is heavily tested in ACET and DCAT. Iskolar Exams includes abstract reasoning practice questions across its question bank for students preparing for multiple entrance exams.
